  • What is Airbrush Tanning?

Airbrush tanning is the easiest way to apply DHA, the active ingredient found in most self tanning products. A fine mist from the airbrush ensures a perfectly even application to the skins surface.  This process avoids streaking and patchiness.

  • What is DHA?

DHA is a colorless sugar cane that has been FDA approved for more than 30 years. DHA can be found in most of your cosmetics.  DHA darkens the skin by interacting with the amino acids in the dead skin cells.  It darkens naturally.

  • How long does it take to apply?

It takes about 10 to 15 minutes to apply and 5 to 10 minutes to dry.

  • How long does it last?

One application can last up to 7 - 10 days, with proper aftercare.  Moisturizing is the key and is very important to make your tan last longer. Chlorine, long hot showers and prolonged bathing will reduce your tan's longevity.  Exfoliation and rubbing excessively of the skin will also reduce your tan’s longevity.

  • How do I prepare for a Tropical Airbrush Tan?

For best results, exfoliate your skin within 24 hours of your session. Do not wear any perfume, makeup, deodorant or moisturizer. Wear loose fitting dark clothing.  Cotton clothing is best.  Tropical Sun is a water soluble instant bronzer and may rub off on clothing.

  •  What should I do after a Tropical Airbrush Tan?

To allow the DHA to fully absorb and react, it is essential that you remain dry for at least 6-8 hours. Avoid any activity that may cause perspiration. After 8 hours you can wash off the Tropical Sun Airbrush Tan.  When you take you shower, you will notice the color coming off, don’t be alarmed.  This is the instant bronzer added to the Tropical Sun Solution.  The DHA color takes up to 24 hours to fully develop and will look it's best if you MOISTURIZE daily.

  •  How often can I get a Tropical Airbrush Tan?

As often as you like. The formula is completely safe, and is FDA approved.  Most people like to redo their tan once a week and it is completely safe to do so.

  • Can you use tanning beds or tan outdoors in conjunction with sunless tanning?

Absolutely.  Although repeated exposure to ultraviolet light is deemed to cause premature aging of the skin and cancers of the skin, you can still do both. There is no protection from ultraviolet light even though you look tan. A sunscreen with the proper  SPF is recommended. Drying your skin out in the sun can reduce the longevity of your sunless tan.

  •  Will I have tan lines?

Yes, if you choose to be tanned wearing a bathing suit or other undergarments. Some customers prefer to be tanned in the nude to avoid tan lines. This is a personal preference and we leave it up to the customer to decide.
